Hearts and Hands Legacy Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service Presented in Memory of Beth Prince

by Chantel Corrie, Executive Director of Midwest Mission

We gather not only to present an award, but to celebrate a life of faithful service and a legacy that continues to bear fruit.

The mission of Midwest Mission is “Hearts and Hands Transforming God’s Resources into Humanitarian Relief.” That mission comes alive through ordinary people who say “yes” to serving others. Few people embodied that mission more fully than Beth Prince.

For 12 years, Beth faithfully served alongside Midwest Mission. She took twelve mission trips, gave generously of her time and talents, and shared the story of Midwest Mission wherever she went. She understood that mission is not simply something we support—it is something we live.

Beth did more than volunteer. She invited others into service. She organized teams, encouraged participation, and inspired countless people to discover the joy of serving. Through her leadership, her church became a place where mission was not an occasional event, but a way of life.

She championed her church as a permanent collection site, helping gather resources that would bring hope and dignity to people around the world and around the corner. Because of her dedication, more donations were collected, more volunteers became involved, and more lives were touched by the love of Christ.

Although Beth is no longer with us, her work did not end with her passing.

One of the greatest measures of a servant leader is not simply what they accomplish themselves, but whether they inspire others to continue the work. Beth did exactly that.

Today, new volunteers have stepped forward. New hands continue the work she loved. Teams continue to organize, collections continue to grow, and the mission continues to move forward because Beth planted seeds of service in the hearts of others.

Scripture reminds us in Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Beth’s life is a beautiful reminder that the harvest of faithful service often continues long after we are gone.

To Beth’s family, friends, and church community: thank you for sharing her with Midwest Mission. And to those who have stepped into leadership and service to carry this ministry forward—thank you for honoring her legacy through your own faithful hands and hearts.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and partners of Midwest Mission, it is our privilege to present the Hearts and Hands Legacy Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, in loving memory of Beth Prince.

May we all be inspired by Beth’s example: to serve faithfully, give generously, invite others into mission, and trust that God can multiply our efforts far beyond what we can imagine.

Please join me in honoring and remembering Beth Prince, whose legacy of service continues to transform God’s resources into humanitarian relief.
